'Claim To Fame' (Paul Black, R. 2011). Seedling# N114AA. TB, 34" (86 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards buff, flushed light red-violet up midrib; style arms buff peach; falls buff ground randomly mottled and streaked except narrow band around edge; beards tangerine; slight sweet fragrance. Seedling# J128B: ('Contemporary Art' x 'I've Got Rhythm') X seedling# K28A: ('El Cerrito' x 'Puccini'). Mid America 2012.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2012: CLAIM TO FAME (Black ‘12) TB Early-Late 34” (86 cm). Claim to Fame sets a new course for broken color TB irises. It is a complete departure from the original Ensminger lines. The color separation and contrast isn't as bold as ones based on Ensminger lines, but it is there in the next generation, which is also considerably stronger and taller with better branching and buds.
