From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1965: CLARET MAHOGANY (Austin '64) EM -36". One of the brightest Iris in the entire garden. A bright crimson-red, with a brilliant claret flush beloW yelloW beard. Adding an air of distinction and making this Iris even more colorful, are prominent bright mahogany epaulets, continuing as a border all around the falls. A heavy bloomer.
