From AIS Bulletin #237 April 1980 Introducing COMMUNIQUE (McWhirter, 1980). TB, E, 38". A written message to bring in your iris season. Extremely large flowers on strong, sturdy stalks, three-way branching plus terminal with 8 buds. A pure white-ground plicata, slightly edged with royal blue plicata markings. The heart of each flower is deep purple, and the beards are soft lemon tipped white. A very striking, uniquely different plicata to begin your iris season.
