From 1952 Fairmount Gardens catalog: (Foreward) From Mr. H. F. Hall of Moorestown, N. J., we have chosen three specially fine iris for introduction. CORONATION GOLD…HYBLAZE…and COPPER GOLD. (Catalog Listing) COPPER GOLD (H. F. Hall 1952) 39" M. The effect of this beautiful iris is a golden toned copper blend with enough yellow in its pigment to enliven the whole flower. The general color reminds one a bit of El Paso. The blooms are free from venation and have no heavy markings that so often detract from the beauty of a flower. The firm textured flowers are smoothly finished, and the stalks have excellent branching. There is a coppery sheen enveloping the whole flower that gives it great individuality and charm. Described by a prominent A.I.S. judge as "the finest in this color class that I have seen." $15.00
