COPPER PINK (Kellogg, 1941): Just why they called this iris pink is more than I can see. It looks dark red to me-if it was correctly labeled. Clevenger. My choice of the pink blends. On first opening it is brilliant, by the third day, though much lighter, is still very attractive. An excellent grower, giving fine increase. Very early. Faults are a tendency to throw crooked bloom stalks and a short blooming period. Sanford. Planted in part shade, the color was rich and bloom lasted. A good iris. Calif. From Cooley's, 1945: COPPER PINK (Kellogg, 1941). Big pink blend with coppery suffusion at the haft. There is some blue shading on the midrib and the style arms are blue. Beard is orange-brown, and there is considerable gold about the center. H.M. A.I.S. 1942. Each $8.50.
COPPER PINK (Kellogg, 1941) : Lacks character; color diminishing too quickly; form not good. [Elias Nelson, (Washington), “Varietal Comments 1946”, The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 105 (April 1947): 97.]
From Fairmount Gardens, 1946: COPPER PINK (W. M. Kellogg 1941) M. A beautiful soft pink flushed with sparkling copper. Medium to large flowers with rounded standards and flaring falls. Excellent substance. H.M A.I.S. 1942. Per. R. 88 1943. 38 in. $5.00.
