Fern Robinson, R. 1954). Seedling 53-6. TB, 39" (99 cm), Late midseason bloom. Color Class-BY1, Medium-light blue-violet self, between hyacinth-blue (Wilson 40/1) and lobelia-blue (Wilson 41/1); smooth light area at sides and end of orange beard.

From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1956: CRADLE SONG (Robinson No. 53-6) (Helen McGregor X (Shining Waters X Great Lakes). Medium light bluish violet self which is between Hyacinth Blue (Wilson 40/1) and Lobelia Blue (Wilson 41/1). A smooth lighter area at the sides and end of the yellow to orange beard gives an inner glow to the large ruffled bloom which attains a size of 7-1/2 to 8 inches across. It is a very smooth flower with a lilting curve to the ruffled falls. In spite of large size the substance is very good and the flowers last well. Th pollen is plentiful and fertile. Hardy, good grower and free bloomer. 40-42 inches. $15.00. |
