(TB) 'Cream Chiffon'

1954, Maxwell

'Cream Chiffon' (Alexander Mawell, for originator Robert Innes, R. 1953). TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-Y4, Reverse bicolor. Standards light canary-yellow; Falls white, haft light yellow, beard canary-yellow. 'Ruth' X 'Blue Rhythm'. Iris Test Gardens 1954.

From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: CREAM CHIFFON. (Innes, 1954). Here is a fine new one from the man that gave us the Sensational Ruth. A cross from Blue Rhythm and Ruth. A finished and tailored flower, which is cone shaped. The standards are light canary yellow; falls cream white with canary yellow beard. Some yellow at haft. Standards tight at top; falls flare out at bottom. Very large flower; well branched stalk and about 38 inches tall. Midseason. $6.00.
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: CREAM CHIFFON (Innes 1953) M. 38 in. (Jasmine x Blue Rhythm). A very large, heavily frilled flower of rich cream. Standards are light canary yellow and the falls are rich cream with a bright canary yellow beard. Lovely. 4.50.
