From Schreiner’s catalog, 2017: CUBS WIN IT (Schreiner 2017) M. 37" $60.00. The Chicago Cubs World Series victory won the hearts of the nation, with apologies to Cleveland. The Cubs last won in 1908, 12 years before the founding of the American Iris Society, as baseball fans know. Although Cubs Win It has only one of the team colors, blue, it perfectly embodies the irrepressible excitement of that night in October. Cubs Win It's erect white standards are flushed with deeper blue at the base. Wide, elegant, cup-shaped falls are peacock blue lightening at the center, highlighting the orange beards. See in our photo at right how the rollicking falls ruffle and swirl. Cubs Win It produces strong, well-branched stems, most double-socketed. "Get your peanuts, popcorn, Iris here!" Like Wow X F.X. Schreiner, Seedling C880-l.
