'Desert Flower' (Henry Sass, R. 1955) Seedling 49-31. TB, 36" (91 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards Naples yellow slightly flushed tan; Falls white overlaid violet, edged yellow-tan. Second and 3d generation seedlings. Seedling from 'Madame Louis Aureau' x 'Orloff') x 2d gen. from Orloff crossed together x (2d gen.yellow plicata). Fleur de Lis 1955.

From Fleur De Lis catalog, 1956: DESERT FLOWER (Sass 1955) M. 35 in, ((Tiffany x Orloff-F3) x ((Orloff x Tiffany) x Blue Plic. Sdlg.)) x ((Tiffany x Orloff-F3) x (Tiffany x Orloff)). Reminiscent of a plicata marked Lady Mohr, this has the same color combination. The standards are near Oyster white with faint blue flushes and the falls are light creamy buff, flushed lemon and pale blue with deeper buff sandings. The flowers are large and heavily ruffled . Very lovely. 10.00
