From 1973 Bay View catalog: DIALOGUE. 36 inches, early to mid-season. From our long standing efforts to produce lush "deep neglectas," we have surmounted the summit with Dialogue. The darkest neglecta with unsurpassed form: Tightly held light blue standards with the very wide overlapping hafted falls of deep purple. The entire bloom is festooned with the heralded bubble-ruffling. Outstanding bud count (12 plus), wide branching, and "weed-like" vigor. Starts early and seems to continue forever. EC '72. DIALOGUE (Ghio) - A silky deep neglecta with a long bloom season (many buds). For us, this heavily ruffled variety is far better than the more popular MYSTIQUE. [Perry Dyer, “A Tall bearded Collection for the Beginner”, The Bulletin of the American Iris Society No. 237 (April 1980): 35. |
