From Quality Gardens 1929 catalog: "Immense flowers of splendid shape and flaring falls. Standards light rosy lilac, shaded bronze (pink effect); falls very wide and flaring, bright red, paler at the margin and heavily reticulated at the haft. 40 inches. Foliage of great size and strength. A sturdy iris of the greatest vigor. This created a great sensation in France last year. C.M.S.N.H.F. (1928 Special prize offered by the Iris Commission of the S.N.H.F. 1928.)"
