DREAMCASTLE Cook, 1943) Each $3.00. An orchid pink self, the segments very broad and of bright clear tones. The white beard, tinted lemon at the base, tends to emphasize the solid pink effect. One of the most sought after varieties. See page 20. AM AIS, 1948. Cooley's Iris catalog 1952, p. 13.
From Schreiner's 1947 Catalog: A beautiful orchid pink iris; a cool pink, not a blend. The near white beard emphasizes the solid orchid-pink coloring. The flower is full with beautiful domed standards and falls of exceptional width, full and rounded. this gives the flower an extraordinarily full, billowy effect. This iris brings the orchid color into the modern iris. An off-shoot of pink breeding, 'Dreamcastle' and its sister seedling 'Harriet Thoreau' began a long line of distinguished orchid and lavender irises. Cook 1943. Honorable Mention 1944; Award of Merit 1948.
