From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1968: DULCEY (Tompkins 1968) M.L. 38 in. (Sib. to Cimarron Strip). This is so different from Cimarron Strip that we have decided to release it this year along with the other. Dulcey is somewhat larger than its sister and is more flaring, having almost perfectly horizontal falls. The standards are excellently domed and are very broad and round. The huge, round falls are very heavy of substance and there is a satiny, ice-like finish to all the petals. It is a self in color, although it is made up of blended shades, and is a color hard to describe. It seems as though it might have a basic color as of rich Maple Sugar, with a thorough blending throughout of an orange pink color called Rose Doree and another called Salmon Flesh by Ridgeways color chart. It is very, very brilliant even though it is fashioned of what we generally think of as more or less Pastel shades and a very full, Geranium red beard is still another factor that adds brilliance . Each flower is perfectly poised on well branched stalks and Dulcey is a good grower and quite hardy. No. 65-51 A. Net $30.00
