From Carl Salbach catalog 1950: EXTRAVAGANZA (Douglas). Creamy white standards; falls, blending of copper-red, lavender, and deep violet, with violet flush down the center. Distinct and beautiful. Late.36". $6.00; 3 for $15.OO.
From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1955: EXTRAVAGANZA (Douglas)-A.M., A.I.S. '47. A very beautiful amoena with almost white standards shading to cream at the base. The falls are deep red-violet with a blue blaze. Late. 3 ft. $1.00.
 
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: EXTRAVAGANZA (Douglas 1944) M. L. 38 in. (Adios x Cortez: Reverie x yellowsdlg). One of the loveliest of the amoenas, this has creamy white standards and rich oriental purple falls. A fine parent. A. M. 1947. 1.00.
