From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1955: FIGURINE (Babson). Mr. Sanford Babson's seedlings practically took the show of the Southern California Iris Society in 1954. Two A.I.S. seedling awards plus the Show Chairman's cup for the best seedling in the show were captured by him. When his first introductions were made last year we quickly obtained stock so that we could offer you these fine iris. Figurine is a delicate blending of lavender over a pearly gray-buff ground. Large flaring flowers with great substance and wonderfully waved and ruffled standards and falls, carried on well-branched stems. 40 in. $7.50. |
