From AIS Bulletin #145, April 1957 Introducing FIRE FLURRY (Snow Flurry x Fire Dance) Midseason. 46 inches. This big showy red should prove a boon to hybridizers, particularly those working for improved plicatas. FIRE FLURRY carries the size, ruffling, height and vigor of Snow Flurry into the plicata lines, but with better branching---three branches and a terminal. The falls are ruby red by the Royal Horticultural Society color chart, with white haft markings which add to the beauty of the flower. The standards are erythrite red. A single stem is a fine specimen, a clump is spectacular. $15.00. Rees Iris Garden. |
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: FIREFLURRY (Rees '57) M. 38 in. (Snow Flurry x Firedance). Extra large flaring flowers with heavy ruffling, done in a deep wine red with a few showy white veins around the beard. Tall and showy. $1.00. |
