From Glen Road Iris Gardens catalog, 1925: FLAMBEAU (Sturt. 1924) A glowing light yellow seedling, the third generation from Caterina and pallida, the stalk tall and high branched, the flowers with flaring falls, conspicuously veined haft and vivid red-orange beard. This is my first success in carrying height into this strain and the plant is not only thrifty but stood out among the seedlings for its marked brilliance; over 3 ft. 15.00.
