'Flaming Star' (Gordon Plough, R. 1966). Seedling# 62-34-49. TB, 33" (84 cm). Early to late bloom. Color Class YO1F. Standards Cadmium orange (Wilson 8/1) with pink glow in center; falls same with clean hafts; saturn red beard. 'Marilyn C' X 'Orange Parade'. Eden Road 1967. Honorable Mention 1968; Favorite Guest 1968; Judges' Choice 1968; Judges' Choice 1969.

From Schreiner's 1970 Iris catalog: FLAMING STAR (Plough 1967) M 33". As bright as a blazing star is this intense, and deeply saturated, brilliant orange iris with a pink flush in both standards and falls. A self with flaring falls and clean hafts. Beard is Saturn red. A terrific color, hard to beat. HM '68. $20.00
