'Flamingo Blues' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1972). Seedling H67-104B. TB, 38" (97 cm). Early to midseason bloom. Standards pale violet-blue; falls dark violet blue; red beard. ('Lilac Champagne' x ('Fair Luzon' x 'Garden Party')) X ((('Fashion Show' x 'Melodrama') x ('Promising' x sibling)) x (('Promising' x 'Frost And Flame') x sibling)). Mission Bell 1973. Honorable Mention 1974.

From AIS Bulletin #208 January 1973 Introducing FLAMINGO BLUES (Hamblen). 38", E-M. An approach to "red, white and blue" in this smooth, heavily substanced neglecta. Tall, well-branched stems display beautifully formed flowers with pale blue stands, deeper toned falls and wide bright beards of cerise-red. (Inv. L. Champagne, Fashion Show, Melodrama, Frost and Flame, G. Amber, etc.) HC '71. $25.00. Mission Bell.
