1969, Plough

'Flower Power' (Gordon Plough, R. 1968). Seedling# 62-174-5. TB, 36" (91 cm). Early to late bloom. Standards lighter than peach (Wilson 512/3) and a trifle pinker; falls closest to royal purple (834/1), some markings next to beard; blue beard, each hair tipped apricot. Seedling# 60-102-30 (involving 'Gaylord', 'Golden Eagle', 'Lotte Lembrich', 'Pink Cameo', 'Tally Ho', 'Whole Cloth', Loomis pink seedling) X seedling# 60-97-8. Eden Road 1969. Honorable Mention 1972.

FLOWER POWER (Plough '68). Power in its unusualness. Perhaps the flower is a bit small for its height, and there are a few reticulations at the haft, but it has to be accepted as a break and quite an accomplishment in hybridizing.
