From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: FLYING SAUCER (Schreiner 1953) M. L. 37 in. (Unavailable parentage). A large flower of pure white ground with distinct edge of blackish purple. Distinct and different. 1.50.
From 1953 Schreiner's catalog: FLYING SAUCER (Schreiner 1953) ML 38. You will not only stop and look once but you will probably look again at this plicata with the darkest markings, nearly as dark as 'Sable', on a clear white ground. Most unusual and novel. We haven't seen another like it. $3.00
