From Melrose Gardens catalog 1976: FOCUS (Keppel '76) Late 38" Sdg. 69-6B: High Life X ((Happy Meeting x Rococo) x Diplomacy). Only Mother Nature in one of her more contrary moods could have contrived such a bold contrapositioning of colors. The foggy mist of lilac-blue standards edged in hazy tan around the undulating petal perimeters are here designed as companions for the extroverted falls, confidently bragging of the one inch, solid, petunia-purple bands which audaciously encompass the fleckless white of the mid-fall areas. Just a few distinct dots appear along the inner edges of these bands—and, of all things—bronze beards are placed according to custom. Two to three wellsituated branches plus terminal support these big, wide petaied, fluted, but uncompromising flowers. EC'73 NET 25.00. |
