2011, Schroetter

'Free Bird' (Jim Schroetter, R. 2009). Seedling# R99A19. TB, 36" (91 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards red purple (near RHS 64A); style arms yellow, red purple midrib; falls maroon overlaid black near edge, brown (166A) haft marks over light yellow becoming grape over white starburst around beard, velvety; beards yellow orange (23A) in throat, base white hairs tipped maroon at end, prominent 1 inch fuzzy maroon horn; purple base foliage; pronounced musky fragrance. 'Thornbird' X 'Bewilderbeast'. Got Irises 2011.
