From Diehl's Gardens catalog, 1956: FROSTED CUPCAKE - EM. 32" $10.00. An enchanting novelty from pink breeding, this pert and saucy flower evokes considerable comment wherever seen. The standards are a soft Venetian Pink, overlaid with silver frost, while the falls, which flare way out and turn up at the tips, are satin-white, brushed Ochraceous Salmon at the hafts and lightly edged the color of the standards. Truly different, and makes a beautiful clump. Looks for all the world like a pink frosted cupcake on a white china saucer. |
