'Gem State' (Jeannette Nelson, R. 1960). Seedling# 59-42-1. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason late bloom. Color Class-YO3, Standards pinkish apricot, edged gold; falls apricot, lemon hafts; yellow beard. ( 'Cloudcap' X 'Palomino') X 'Soaring Kite'. Eden Road 1961. Honorable Mention 1964.

From AIS Bulletin #165, April 1962. Introducing GEM STATE (J. Nelson) ML. 38 in. (Nike sib X Soaring Kite). Delicately tinted stds. of pale mimosa-yellow flushed pink and falls same with haft and edges deep mimosa. Form is fine with ruffling and fluting. Substance is good. Fertile both ways. HC. '61. $30.00. Eden Road.
