'Gold Bunting' (Opal Brown, R. 1970). Seedling# 4-186. TB, 28" (71 cm), Early midseason bloom. Canary yellow (RHS 9A) self with tiny white blaze at tip of yellow beard; lightly ruffled. Seedling# 2-25A 12: (involving 'Golden Valley', 'Gosper', 'Poet's Dream' x 'Phoebus Apollo') X 'Poet's Dream'. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens 1970.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing GOLD BUNTING. $5.00. (0. L. Brown '70) Border Bearded, Mid., 26 to 28 inches. Bright little 4x5 inch full yellow flowers with tiny white blaze at tip of yellow beard. Lightly ruffled with closed standards and semiflaring falls. Slender stems with foliage in ratio. Sdlg. #2-25A12. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens.
