1955, Murray

'Greenback' (George Murray, R. 1954). Seedling# 249-48. TB, 36" (91 cm), Early to late bloom. Color Class-W1G, White self, strong green influence; bud emerald green opening delicate white infused green; back of falls remains green; lemon beard. 'Purissima' X ('Gloriole' x 'Caroline Burr'). Tell 1955.

From Tell’s Iris Garden catalog, 1955: GREENBACK (George H. Murray). E.-M. (Purissima) x (Gloriole x Caroline Burr.) Beautiful, wide green-white with very green buds. Tall and beautifully branched, it should be a breeder for greens as well as blues, whites,and possibly blue bi-colors. Wonderful substance. Height 38". No. 249. $15.00
