'Happy Meeting' (David Lyon, R. 1953). Seedling# D493-51-19. TB, 36" (91 cm), Late midseason bloom. Color Class-W2, Plicata, ivory-white with soft-lilac border markings; falls white, bordered same as Standards. 'Lovelace' X 'New Hope'. Lyon 1955. High Commendation 1953 under Seedling #D-493-51-19. Honorable Mention 1955.

From M. Oliver Flower Farms catalog, 1958: HAPPY MEETING (D. Lyon '55) L-M 36" A highly ruffled plicata of heavy substance and attractive color. The falls are white-white with a margin of deep violet purple. The beard is blue tipped. The standards are so heavily sprayed with a lighter violet purple that only an area around the mid ribs shows the ground color. H. M. '55. $12.00.
From Lyon's Irisland catalog, 1959: HAPPY MEETING (Lyon '55). $8.00 Highly ruffled plicata of exceptionally heavy substance. The falls are white with a 1/4" pattern around the edges of deep violet purple. Standards old ivory heavily sprayed with a lighter shade of violet,purple. The branching, spacing, size and form are of top quality. 36". M-L. (Lovelace X New Hope). H.M.'55.
 
From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1964: HAPPY MEETING (Lyon '55) ML-36". A highly ruffled plicata with exceptionally heavy substance. Rufflmg so dense it takes days for flower to open. Standards old ivory, heavily sprayed violet. Falls white-white with solid 1/4" edging of deep violet. Splendid branching, size, form. HC'53; HM'55. Lovelace X New Hope.
