Awaiting original catalog description
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: HARMONY (Dykes). Deep violet-purple self with a blue beard. The effect of this self colored Iris with a harmonizing beard won for it in England, at the show of the Royal Horticultural Society, an Award of Merit in 1921. The flower is of good size, has long falls, and the bloom holds up well. It is a tall grower, particularly effective in mass. This is a better Iris than Blue Boy, the only other Iris we know to have a blue beard. Midseason. Height 30 inches. $3.50
HARMONY - This most pleasing variety is a very deep rich purple blue self, the standards, falls and beard of exactly similar tone, giving a wonderful color effect in the mass. It is notably free-flowering, the spikes practically always carrying four fully open blooms of large size. It received an Award of Merit at the Royal Horticultural Society's Show on June 12, 1923. The "Gardener's Chronicle" of June 16th, 1923, says: - "This is a particularly fine, large flowered, bearded Iris, with bold and practically self-coloured blooms, on spikes well over a yard high. The colour is deep with rich purple blue, with a satiny sheen. We understand this variety was raised by Mr. W. R. Dykes." The Dykes Irises catalog, 1929.
