From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1926: HESPERIA Our No. 155. A striking bicolor of distinct coloration, giving in the garden a general effect of light brown. Flowers large; the standards Light Drab; the falls a solid Blackish Red Purple flushed amber. This Iris suggests Nibelungen, having the same pronounced color contrast between standards and falls, but the flowers are larger and of heavier substance. Three feet. A strong growing and very free flowering variety greatly admired by many visitors to our garden during the past five years. Strong plants, prepaid, each - $3.00. |
