From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: HIPPOLYTA (Newlands). A tall bluish lavender landscape Iris in a class with Phyllis Bliss, and Lady Byng. Very prolific; very large size bloom of good substance. Height, 33 inches. $1.50.
 
From Sam Carpenter Garden catalog, 1927: HIPPOLYTA (Hort) Mauve in color. Flowers of good size, fine shape and splendid carriage. Vigorous growing habit. $1.25.
