From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: HONEY HUE (Schm. '59) M. 36 in. (Precious Cargo x Party Time). A real beauty and one of our own favorites. Very heavily ruffled and laced flowers of pure butterscotch with a glittering amber brown edge around the lacy falls. Beautiful form and heavy substance. Should prove to be a wonderful parent, too. H.M. 1961. 7.50. |
From AIS Bulletin #170, July 1963: "Honey Hue (Schmelzer). Light-brown standards, tightly held and edged slightly darker. Falls are nicely flared and are of same color as standards and are edged darker. The beard is yellow. A very pleasing iris." |
