From AIS Bulletin #237 April 1980 Introducing HONEY MOCHA (Walt Luihn '80). #77-30. TH, 36", M-L. (Pride of Ireland x New Moon) X Solano. Here is 'that brown' which so many of you have tried to describe as to exact color. We thank all of you who suggested names for this beauty. After much consideration, we feel that HONEY MOCHA best describes it. This wide, tall and heavily-substanced self is the color of a yummy chocolate-mocha cake. The mocha brown standards are lightly laced: and the wide and flaring falls are laced and fluted, accented by a thick, plush bronze beard, tipped mocha. To further enhance the falls, the shoulders are washed with a light coating of pure honey, which spills down the falls, giving a delectable, glistening effect. True to its pollen parent's heritage. the stiff. ram-rod stems, good branching and bud count, and excellent plant habit all contribute to its overall appeal. For those of you who are breeding for 'greens', we feel this might be a step in the right direction. $25.00. Luihn's Iris Garden. |
