References:

From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: ILSAN (Goos and Koenemann). S. delicate fawn suffused with lilac rose; F. very rich red- mahogany brown with white lines at base. A splendidly shaped bloom of good arched S. A distinctive Iris which blooms in midseason. Height, 36 inches. $1.50.
From Treholme Gardens catalog 1928: ILSAN (G & K 1920) E. 78 G. 80 36' L. S. light violet, shaded light brown; F. deep velvety violet-red. On the order of Col. Candelot but not so tall or richly colored. 1.00.
