JEB STUART (Wash 1932) M. 40" A rich brownish-red with copper lighting. S. domed, F. dark and velvety, intensified by the rich orange beard. Stalk tall and widely branched. $5.00. H.M. , A.I.S., 1933. [1937 Quality Gardens catalog, Freeport, IL]
Jeb Stuart: (Washington). Have only seen this twice but both times was not impressed after the build-up. Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939), 17.
JEB STUART (Washington 1932) Deep rich brownish red with some influence of copper in the tone. S. domed and do not open. F. extremely velvety, seeming much darker than the standards: deep orange beard, tall and widely branched. An outstanding iris. H. M., A. I. S. 1933. A. M., A. I. S. 1935. 40 in. $3.50.
