Comments from 1949 Craig Catalog; Vigorous, Floriferous, and prolific. Immense flowers flaring and somewhat ruffled, Golden buff lightly washed and striated red brown, with red brown stippling forming an almost solid 0.25" margin to the falls. Frequent bloomer, usually flowering early and then again with the late iris and, in our garden, always flowering again in mid-winter.
From Wallace Iris Gardens catalog 1955: JOSEPH'S MANTLE - (Craig '49) M. 39 in. (China Maid x Tiffany) x Mitchell plicata sdlg). A broad petaled plicata with deep cream lemon ground with all over brushings of chocolate brown. Reblooms. $2.50.
