From AIS Bulletin #165, April 1962. Introducing JUNE SONG: 40". (National White x Spring Sunshine) X Nightingale. Although not as large or as tall as some of the current crop of white iris, it grows well and the form is close to perfection. It has a refinement and carriage that is very pleasing and I'm sure will please all who possess it. As long as I grow iris June Song is sure of a spot in the garden. Pictured at right. $20.0. From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: JUNE SONG Crandall '62) M. 40 in.(National White x Spring Sunshine) x Nightingale. A beautiful white of excellent form with perfectly domed stands and flaring falls. The substance is extra heavy and all petals are nicely ruffled. Attracted more attention than any white in our garden last year. 15.00. |
