From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1962: KARIN von HUGO (Victor von Martin 1962) M. We have many pink iris at the present time, but none that I have seen have the charm of this very delightful pink iris. The nearest color in the R.H.S. Chart is Venetian Pink (420) shading slightly deeper toward the heart of the flower. The standards are domed and firmly held by the midrib. The falls are nicely flaring and it has a pink toned beard. The whole flower has a neat ruffling in the standards and falls. A vigorous tall well branched pink that gives a beautiful display in an established clump. Happy Birthday x Pink Tower. From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: KARIN von HUGO IV. von Martin '62l M. H. Birthday x P. Tower. A tall, very strong stalked, well branched iris with huge, perfectly formed flowers. The wide, domed stands and broad, semi-flaring falls are of uniform Venetian pink given a deeper glow in the throat by the rich, darker Venetian pink beard. H .M.
