KILT LILT (Gibson, 70) M. 38" Each $25.00. If you like ruffles, frills, fringes and lace in an Iris you will have hit the jack-pot with this most striking and truly unusual novelty. The standards are a glowing blend of rich apricot and gold. Falls are a sort of maroon red on old gold, heavily textured, folded and pleated. Reverse of the petals is greenish old gold, and this extends over to the outer surface, giving the flower a sort of bi-tone effect. Massive blooms on heavy, wellbranched stems. No. 29-4A. THE plicata of the day is KILT LILT. A combination of bright colors with lace and ruffling took this one to the top of the HM voting this year and by a wide margin. It increased very well in Oklahoma gardens. The standards are gold and the falls are red-brown and white with a gold lace edge. Most exciting! [Mullin, Ron (1971).
