'La Golandrina' (Chet Tompkins, R. 1945) TB. Midseason to late bloom. Color Class B7D. 'Brunhilde' x 'Lilamani'.

La golondrina is the Spanish word for "The Swallow".

LA GOLONDRINA (Tompkins 1946) (Brunhilde x Lilimani) Large royal purple. Somewhat similar to 'Gulf Stream'. $12.00. [Tell's Iris Gardens Catalog, 1948:16]
La Golondrina was fine. I call it deep lavender or light purple—he [Tompkins] calls it royal purple. It is ruffled and stands up well. [Reynolds, Mrs. Leo F., Tennessee (1949). Coming Events Cast Their Shadows, American Iris Society Bulletin 116(January 1950), 27.]
