From Irisnoll Catalog, 1945: Lake Shannon — Height 36 inches. Excellent branching. Seven to nine large flowers to the stalk. Standards and falls wide and fluted. Falls wide at the haft, semi-flaring to drooping, forming a graceful flower. Three flowers out at once make a beautiful stalk. A medium blue self with blue beard, tipped orange deep inside the flower. Each $25.00.
"Lake Shannon (DeForest '45) is another medium toned blue, broad petaled and ruffled. It is completely covered with veining of a darker blue that gives it a deep overcast." [David R. Kinnish, O. S.
