From Maple Valley Iris Garden catalog, 1937: LARGO (Ashley 1930). A tall clear toned variegata that has been somewhat overlooked. A clear Citron yellow with the falls heavily overlaid rosy mauve. It presents a pleasing color contrast. 50c.
LARGO (Ashley 1932) M. 40". An iris of great delicacy of coloring which it retains throughout the blooming period. S. soft chrome yellow, ruffled and arched; F. rose, paling at the ruffled edges. The flower has a very heavy substance, quite unexpected because of its dainty coloring. $.50. [1937 Quality Gardens catalog, Freeport, IL]
