1991/92, Blyth

'Legato' (Barry Blyth, R. 1991). Seedling# X140-2. TB, 38" (96 cm). Late midseason bloom. Vibrant metallic orange, few plicata markings around bright saturn orange beards. 'Latin Lark' X ('Edna's Wish' x 'Orangerie'). Tempo Two 1991/92.

From Tempo Two catalog, 1991: LEGATO (Blyth 91 Aust) M-ML 28". The name is a musical term meaning smooth or gliding. This a vibrant metallic orange that is very smooth with brilliant orange beards and excellent show branching. It won the Norman Caldwell award last season in the trial garden for the best garden Iris. It is a good parent giving plicatas and lovely orange shades. (Latin Lark X (Edna's Wish x Orangerie)) HM 90. Sdlg X140-2. $30.00.
