From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1927: Lerema (Longfield No. 229). TB. Sherwin Wright X mixed pollen. Height 3 feet, stalk well branched, 5-8 flowers. Flower medium large, 3-1/2 inches high and 4 inches wide. Standards arching cupped: obovate; Argyle Purple, shading to yellow at claw. Falls flaring; spatulate; Dahlia Purple, shading out to paler at the margin; haft tinged with yellowish, brown veined; beard yellow. Style branches light yellow; crests and along the center light Argyle Purple. A vigorous free flowering variety with the same seed parent as Geo. J. Tribolet; lighter and redder than that variety. $1.00. |
