From AIS Bulletin #181 April 1966. Introducing LIGHT AND LOVELY (Clara B. Rees 1966) E.M. 32 to 34 inches. ((Yellow Organdy x Party Dress) x Convention Queen). Strong, well branched stalks of three wide branches and terminal carry many superb flowers of an elegant and skillful blending of rich country cream, French white, and antique gilt. The firmly domed standards of cream-white are flushed and delicately netted rich country cream; the ultra wide and flaring falls of French white are brushed antique gilt at the haft with a rich cream wash extending over the falls and into a light texture veining. The light cream beard blends into the subtle harmony of the flower; a dainty touch of lace completes this personable and different cream. A handsome addition to the early garden; sets seed, but no pollen. H.C. 1964 as 63-20. Net $25.00. Imperial Gardens. |
