'Lilac Flame' (Melba Hamblen, R. 1978). Seedling# H71-28A. TB, 34" (86 cm). Late midseason late bloom. Lilac-pink (RHS 65C) with cream infusion in center of falls; orange-red beardtipped smoky orange. 'Pretty Nancy' X 'Pink Sleigh'. Mission Bell 1979. Honorable Mention 1981.

From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing LILAC FLAME. ML, 86 cm. Ruffled, lacy, beautifully formed, light red-purple (RHS 65C-lilac-pink) with lighter area backgrounding beards of orange-red (34C-smoky tangerine). Closed stands; arched, flaring falls. Strong stalks with well-spaced buds. (Pretty Nancy X Pink Sleigh). HC '78. No. H71-28A. $25.00. Mission Bell.
