From AIS Bulletin #228 Winter 1978 Introducing LILAC LOVE (1978). TE, 40", M, #31-9D. $25.00. A beautifully ruffled and fluted plicata of the purest and most lovely color combination. The flower is perfectly formed with plenty of substance. The standards are a most pleasing shade of cobalt violet, highlighting a pure white ground, and could be called plicata markings. The falls have a distinct !" cobalt violet plicata border on a broad, pure white ground. The beard is a yellow, tipped white combination. Although delicately colored and refined in flower, it is a vigorous grower. Three branches and terminal, 8 buds, 6" x 7" blooms. One I must consider among my best. Gibson Iris Gardens. |
