From Cape Iris catalog, 1980: LILAC THRILL (Niswonger'79) Sdlg. 34-74: ((16-68:(Sapphire Fuzz x Rippling Waters) X (7-67:(Sapphire Fuzz x Pink Flurry)) X Pink Sleigh. TB, 30"(76 cm), Mid ., HC'76 & '77, 5 prPRV/5prPRVpr, Fertile both ways. This is a clean, clear, pale lilac with a hint of pink. It's Self with a pink beard. The pod parent was a pink with a blue beard which I lost because it didn't produce any increases . It was the only lilac from a beautiful group of seedlings but I had marked it in a rainstorm and had forgotten about it until it bloomed and I saw what it could really do. It knocked me over with 3 and 4 blooms open at one time on stalks with 8 and 9 buds---or should I say it really gave me a THRILL. It should do the same for you and it's an excellent breeder too. $20.00 |
