From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing DANCING JEWEL (Roe '70). LILAC TREAT. Sdlg. 4-65. Rippling Waters X Lovely Letty. VIL, M. TB, 34". HC '69. Fertile both ways. A clean lilac self with beautiful form, exquisite ruffles and set off with a deep red beard. The falls are semi-flared and become more horizontal as the bloom ages and finally folds upward when the bloom is finished. It has produced some outstanding seedlings. It can be seen at the New York AIS Convention. $25.00. Cape Iris Gardens.
From Alan Harper’s Top O’ The Ridge catalog,1971: LILAC TREAT (Niswonger 1970) TB 34" M V1L RIPPLING WATERS X LOVELY LETTY HC '69-'70. Lilac with red beard. Emphasis on form, with wide parts, gorgeous ruffling and "proper" flaring. Third among favorite Guest Iris at New York. $25.00
