From AIS Bulletin #229, Spring 1978 Introducing LOVELY BLANCHE (E. Hunt). M-L, 30". (Mayberry M57-19-1: ((Tiffanja x Rare Marble) x New Adventure) x (Convention Queen x New Adventure)) X April Melody, which is a grandchild on one side and gr. grandchild of New Adventure on the other side, giving much width in Pink Formal breeding here. Definitely an advance in pink plicata breeding and a perfect mate for my new Promissory Note. The flower has wide parts, domed standards, and rounded semi-flaring falls. The plicata markings are concentrated on the falls. According to the RHS color chart, the S. are 49C and the F. are a shade lighter, 49D, with the pinker beard 49H. Excellent branching. #P.p1 #7. $25.00. Tell's Iris Garden. |
